The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HOA law, COA/HOA, condominium and community association law, real estate, residential real estate, and commercial real estate. Knowledge of applicable law is a plus. The candidate must also be adept at preparing board membership meetings. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse group of professionals in the legal industry. Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to HOA and COA boards on various issues including but not limited to governance, contracts, litigation, and dispute resolution.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, and other legal documents related to residential and commercial real estate transactions.
- Provide legal representation for community associations in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation.
- Advise and assist community associations in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on various matters related to community association law.
- Prepare for and attend board membership meetings, offering legal advice and guidance as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in community association law, real estate law, and related areas.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the state bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HOA law, COA/HOA, condominium and community association law, real estate, residential real estate, and commercial real estate.
- Strong knowledge of applicable law is preferred.
- Proven experience in preparing for and attending board membership meetings.
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to interpret and draft legal documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues in an understandable manner.
- Strong research skills with the ability to analyze and apply legal principles and precedents.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Proficiency in the use of legal research software and other relevant computer applications.
