Reinsurance Accountant

Reinsurance Accountant Bilingual Spanish

We are looking to for a hands-on of experience with accounting, reporting, finance and GAAP accounting & reporting experience.

You will be will responsible for technical accounting duties including high level analysis, processing, and booking assumed reinsurance statements in the sub-ledger system of record which includes monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Complete financial settlement activities according to policy terms and agreements and timely management of overall cash flow
• Review and analyze statement submissions ensuring all required supporting documentation has been received
• Develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with other functional areas (Underwriting, Claims, Finance) and clients to clarify and resolve queries, incorrect data, and missing information to facilitate timely and accurate statement processing
• Achieve qualitative and granular understanding of accounts and reported balances

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field desired
• GAAP accounting & reporting experience desired
• 3+ years of accounting, reporting or finance experience
• Bilingual Spanish/English strongly desired
• Proactive individual with well-developed communication skills, analytical and documentation skills, and with high attention to detail
• Ability to react and successfully balance multiple competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment under strict time constraints
• Proven track record of taking initiative to research and resolve issues
• Strong computer skills and desire to learn new applications with advanced MS Excel knowledge
