About Us
The Lee Health Cancer Institute is located in a state-of-the-art, 100,000-square-foot outpatient facility, offering comprehensive cancer care. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to deliver comprehensive medical, surgical, radiation oncology, and palliative care services for all cancer types, treating approximately 5,300 analytic cases annually. The center features a 43-chair chemotherapy infusion unit, advanced imaging technology, specialized laboratory services, and a team including nurse navigators, genetic counselors, social workers, dietitians, and financial advisors.
Lee Health operates as a non-profit organization with 16,000 staff and 92 practice sites across Southwest Florida. Our culture encourages strong team collaboration within a vibrant referral network, addressing the growing needs for thoracic care, and includes 1,200 primary and specialty care providers. Through close teamwork, our lung screening and incidental lung nodule program generates new patient referrals. We run four acute care hospitals and two specialty hospitals, providing a total of 1,812 beds. Our collaborative approach helped us earn an "A" grade in the Fall 2024 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Survey.
Position Summary
We aim to establish a leading center for thoracic cancer carewhere your leadership and expertise, combined with the dedication and collaboration of our entire team, will directly enhance patient outcomes and set new standards in the field. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with surgical and medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pulmonologists, pathologists, radiologists, and specialized nurses to ensure seamless patient care. With access to state-of-the-art technologyincluding robotic-assisted surgeries, advanced imaging, and sophisticated endoscopic techniquesour team provides the highest quality interventions. Our group has performed over 1,500 Ion procedures in less than three years, along with diagnosing new lung cancer cases every single day. This position offers a high volume of complex surgical cases and outstanding opportunities for professional growth and innovation. Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a degree from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school, completed an ACGME-accredited thoracic surgery training program, and has extensive experience in lung, esophageal, and complex chest cancers. They also excel in minimally invasive and robotic procedures. Candidates must hold board certification or be eligible for thoracic surgery certification and meet medical licensure requirements in Florida. We seek individuals who demonstrate excellent surgical skills, strong leadership, a collaborative team spirit, and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits
