Overview:

We are a commercial facilities maintenance contractor in need of a skilled and dependable Field Maintenance Technician to join our team as a dedicated support to a large restaurant client group in the Orlando area. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience in general building repairs for commercial restaurants. We are seeking a versatile individual with expertise in tile and grout repairs, general carpentry, basic plumbing, drywall repairs, painting, acoustical ceiling work, door repairs, and other miscellaneous maintenance tasks. The role also includes performing preventative maintenance and servicing restaurant equipment. This position requires critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures in all business activities.
  • Perform maintenance services professionally and according to company standards.
  • Complete assigned work orders within specified timelines.
  • Conduct site surveys to assist in project quotations.
  • Execute general maintenance and repairs on commercial properties in compliance with company procedures, safety protocols, customer expectations, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Undertake various tasks such as tile and grout repairs, painting, drywall fixes, FRP installation, carpentry work, acoustic ceiling repairs, door maintenance, pressure washing etc., as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on restaurant equipment, including but not limited to HVAC systems, refrigeration units, ovens, grills, and dishwashers. Tasks may include cleaning coils, changing belts, checking electrical connections, and verifying operational efficiency.
  • Complete preventative maintenance on water heaters and HVAC equipment, including cleaning coils and changing belts.
  • Approach daily challenges with readiness and problem-solving skills, delivering exceptional service and repair outcomes for clients.
  • Self-manage dispatching and scheduling work orders through Service Channel while also completing preventative maintenance expectations.
  • Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, and equipment.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic collection of power and hand tools (e.g., drill, saw, hammer, screwdriver, etc.).
  • Willingness to undergo motor vehicle verification, drug screening, and background checks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical maintenance, such as sink/light bulb installation and leak repairs.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights, including on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms, while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration, and cooking equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial building maintenance and repairs, including the mentioned tasks.
  • Proficient with mobile tools and applications.
  • Technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance. This may include lifting tools, building materials, and equipment during maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Standing and Walking: Capable of standing and walking for extended periods, navigating through commercial properties, job sites, and facilities to perform maintenance work efficiently.
  • Bending and Stooping: Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in various positions to access and repair equipment, fixtures, and structures in tight or confined spaces.
  • Climbing: Comfortable with climbing ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated structures safely to perform tasks such as ceiling repairs, painting, and accessing equipment.
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment effectively and safely to complete maintenance and repair tasks with precision.
  • Repetitive Motions: Capable of performing repetitive motions such as hammering, drilling, sanding, and painting as part of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Balance and Coordination: Maintaining balance and coordination when working on elevated surfaces, using ladders, and maneuvering around obstacles to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Physical Endurance: Possessing physical stamina and endurance to handle the demands of a fast-paced work environment, including working in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes.
  • Safety Awareness: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazards while performing maintenance tasks and operating equipment.
