You will stay visible, observe for unusual activity, communicate clearly with staff and the public, and document security-related concerns. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors at a government location by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Operate walk-through metal detectors, hand-held wands, and X-ray equipment as assigned, and conduct bag and property inspections in accordance with posted rules and site requirements.
- Control access by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, directing visitors to authorized areas, and helping to maintain orderly entry lines and screening queues.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
- Document screening activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in written logs and reports, and communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and site personnel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
