Shipping Clerk

SUMMARY: The Shipping/Receiving Clerk works effectively and efficiently in a warehouse environment to receive and schedule shipping and freight operations, including developing a working knowledge of warehouse organization and creating proper and detailed shipping documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Coordinate deliveries to customers and clients on a daily basis, including boxing goods, addressing packages, and staying in contact with shipping companies.
• Accurately weigh and label items to be shipped and determine proper shipment method and shipping charges by utilizing shipping procedures, rates, and routes.
• Prepare items for shipment by packing items into containers using fillers, spacers and protective padding to ensure package(s) arrive safely to customers and conform to shipping specifications.
• Keep records of goods that have been shipped and received, preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for supervisor.
• Maintain shipping area by cleaning, organizing, and labeling items in storage on a regular basis and maintain inventory of shipping materials as well as supplies.
• Coordinate logistics to ensure that there is enough storage space for incoming shipments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a manufacturing environment and in conjunction with delivery schedules and customer requirements.
• Highly flexible in a fast paced continuously changing environment.
• Ability to maintain a high level of physicality for prolonged periods and working primarily standing.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 per hour

Monday through Friday, 7am-3:30pm, OT as needed
