GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

A Community Programs position responsible for specialized victim advocacy, providing partner agency consultation, and community outreach, along with some clerical and administrative duties within the Children's Advocacy Center. Responsible for working with the multidisciplinary team at the Children's Advocacy Center under the direction of the CAC Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provides specialized advocacy including care for spiritual injury, generational trauma, prior experiences, disabilities, and cognitive delays of child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers and families at all stages of an investigation and prosecution in compliance with the National Children's Alliance Standards of Accreditation.

• Participates on the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) by attending monthly case reviews to help identify and address diverse needs, providing consultations to MDT members regarding religious beliefs and backgrounds of victims and their families, and addressing vicarious trauma of MDT members.

• Acts as the liaison between the Children's Advocacy Center and youth serving organizations to provide education on trauma and abuse and equip faith leaders with tools for strong child protection policies.

• Maintains records to reflect client services, MDT services, and services within the community.

• Assists with facilitation of trauma-informed training for MDT, partner agencies, and community members.

• Participates on the Sexual Assault Response Team for Highlands County to identify and address spiritual injury and vicarious trauma.

• Represents the Children's Advocacy Center at community events, sometimes outside of business hours.

• May assist in the supervision of volunteers and interns as needed.

• Responds productively to change and performs all over related tasks as required and as directed.

• Maintains a professional and safe unit and work area, adhering to established safety policies and the image desired for the organization.

• Consistently follows Board policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

•Experience with Human Services, casework, and social factors .

• Experience providing spiritual care.

• Knowledge of office practices and procedures.

• Ability to make decisions in accordance with rules, regulations, and policies.

• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, supervisors, directors, elected officials, vendors, and the general public.

PHYSICAL SKILLS:

The individual in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time. Must be able to inspect and assess daily written correspondence. Frequently operates various types of office equipment to include, but not limited to a computer and copy machine. Occasionally ascends/descends stairs. The individual in this position frequently communicates with the public, and co-workers and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Rarely moves material and office equipment weighing up to 25lbs. Constantly works in an indoors. Rarely works in inclement outdoor weather conditions. Rarely operates motor vehicle for up to (4) hours continuously or intermittently. Must be able to frequently position self to reach files and other office items located on low shelfs or the floor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have five years of experience working as a chaplain and/or with child and adult victims. Bachelor’s degree in theology, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other Human Services field preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess and maintain a valid Florid driver license at the time of employment. Must complete Victim Advocate training and Chaplaincy training within three (3) months if incumbent does not possess at time of hire.
