Senior Inventory Accounting Analyst

Kforce has a client that is seeking a remote Senior Inventory Accounting Analyst to join their accounting team. Summary: This role is responsible for supporting month-end close activities, inventory accounting, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, analytical capabilities, and experience partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and inventory-related accounting processes. Responsibilities:

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including inventory-related accounting processes
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
• Perform timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations, including inventory and related accounts
• Assist with financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies
• Participate in internal control and SOX compliance activities, including testing, certifications, and audit support
• Partner with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and analysis
• Analyze inventory transactions, variances, reserves, and related financial data
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiencies
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business objectives
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting, inventory accounting, or finance experience
• Experience with inventory accounting, inventory controls, and variance analysis
• Experience supporting SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit activities
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
