DME Care Coordinator
:
The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator is responsible for providing superior customer service and coordinate delivery of DME products to injured workers and update the client on the life of the DME order.
Essential Functions:
- Research, reviews, and resolves claims and benefit questions with Customer Service and other Operations areas.
- Regularly converses by phone with members and providers, either directly or as transferred by customer service representatives.
- Receives pre-service review (quote) requests telephonically in a call center environment for patient DME orders.
- Communicate effectively to the referral/order source status of referrals/orders
- Demonstrates excellent customer service, and respect for customers, co-workers, and management.
- Provide and receive written authorization for equipment.
- Work closely with the referral source, injured worker, and DME provider to ensure appropriate DME is delivered within a specified time frame.
- Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the office as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Executes DME dispensing processes to enhance customer satisfaction and establish best practices
- Educates patients and support staff on the application, use, care, and expected outcome for products as indicated by the provider instructions and manufacturer recommendations
- Complies with all applicable Federal, State and other laws/regulations relating to DME operations
- Obtains prior authorizations, checks benefit eligibility and coverage for DME items and calculates approximate out of pocket costs for patients
- Regularly communicates with assigned office(s) regarding DME prior authorizations
- Dispenses DME to patients and conducts test-fittings, as needed
- Tracks referrals through the DME process and tracks patients next appointments for DME dispensing
- Creates, maintains and updates reports, as directed
- Checks work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday
- Participate in and complete all required trainings and in-services
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, groups of managers, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required - High School or GED
- Must have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook). Must have a working knowledge of various business software (i.e.: ERP, CRM, etc.)
- Must have a working knowledge of data analysis and operations metrics
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work individually as well as within a team
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize
- Must demonstrate extreme attention to detail
- Must possess strong organization skills
- Must be able to perform calculations, problem solve and use reasoning
- Must have knowledge of medical practices and medical terminology
- Must be able to meet predefined production and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g., supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.)
- Prefer strong negotiation skills
- Intermediate Knowledge of medical terminology and DME
- At least one (1) year of related experience in a healthcare setting

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
