JOB SUMMARY The Director of Group Operations is responsible for assisting in the sales execution of the sales office as well as proactively soliciting and booking group meetings/revenue opportunities from their assigned territory. As directed by the Director of Sales, the position ensures systems, training, processes, and strategies are consistent with making departmental goals. Individually, the position is responsible for driving group sales from specified geographic territories. Researches, solicits, and qualifies business opportunities. Provides client proposals, negotiates, and closes business opportunities according to the hotel’s designated booking parameters. JOB SPECIFIC TASKS

Sales and Marketing

• Assists the Director of Sales in overseeing assigned aspects of the group sales booking objectives.
• Serve as an authority on sales processes and sales contracts.
• Assists the Director of Sales in directing all sales activities for Sales Managers to ensure they meet the goals of the Revenue Plan.
• Understand and use property ESS Surveys to analyze opportunities for improved customer service. Identify and implement improvements to drive continuous improvement in ESS scores. Attending ESS meeting as directed.
• Ensure effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process and bring issues to the attention of leadership team as appropriate.
• Ensures the hotel is represented as an active member of the local community through association membership.
• Organizes and attends major sales-related functions within the hotel.
• Keeps updated with new products in the market.

Financial Responsibilities:

• Drives revenue generation through continual activities to source new sales leads.
• Works in conjunction with Revenue Management to maximize yield management of hotel rooms.
• Gain additional knowledge of knowledge of total hotel revenue management strategy, processes and strategies (including sales cycles and trends, account management, pricing, and inventory management).
• Other
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Revenue Management:

• In deployed markets, works with Revenue Management to align revenue opportunities with designated segment strategies for rooms, food and beverage and associated group revenues. Drives revenue generation through continual activities to source new sales leads.
