Position Overview:

Supports field-level integration of Advanced Meter Reading System (AMRS) components at Department of the Air Force (DAF) installations. Provides journeyman-level assistance with either electrical or communications systems integration depending on technical background. Participates in site visits, system configuration, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities in alignment with Air Force Facility-Related Control System (FRCS) standards. Contributes to the operational deployment and lifecycle support of metering and data acquisition systems across multiple installations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts onsite support activities during AMRS deployments and sustainment efforts.
• Assists with integration of metering devices into electrical panels or communication infrastructure.
• Performs infrastructure walkthroughs and documents system configurations, physical layouts, and installation requirements.
• Supports system testing, fault isolation, and resolution of integration or sustainment issues.
• Provides input to technical documentation and assists with compliance and accreditation tasks.
• Coordinates with CE, cybersecurity, and network stakeholders to align with approved system architecture.
• Helps maintain operational readiness of metering components through preventive maintenance and user coordination.
• Ensures the safety of personnel when visiting sites with live electrical infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical coursework or training in electrical systems, telecommunications, or electronics preferred. Equivalent military training accepted.

Certification:

• Relevant technical or military certifications (e.g., NEC/Journeyman Electrician, Cable & Antenna Systems, or Electronics Technician certificates) preferred but not required.

Experience:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting electrical or communications infrastructure in a military, industrial, or facilities environment.
• Prior experience as a DoD Enlisted Electrical Systems Technician or Cable & Antenna Systems Technician is required.
• Familiarity with metering technologies, cabling standards, and FRCS or ICS environments is preferred.
• S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance required.
