General Summary
The Vice President, Sales develops and executes Twin Star Home’s growth strategy and continues to expand the online and brick & mortar channels. This role will also be responsible for driving revenue and management of all sales and business development operations, including pipeline forecasting, global sales strategy, team-building and overall sales management. Delivering top-line sales revenue, profitability targets and building strategic customer relationships are key areas for this role.
Primary / Key Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy that aligns with company goals.
- Analyze market trends and identify new sales opportunities.
- Set and achieve sales targets and performance metrics for your team.
- Manage programs and promotional funding to maximize top and bottom-line results
- Negotiate and manage trade funds to create customer and company value by consistently measuring and enforcing trade terms and identifying opportunities for improvement
Team Leadership:
- Develop and mentor high-performing sales teams.
- Motivate and manage sales teams to achieve targets.
- Evaluate sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support Sales team with customer engagement projects as needed.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with key executives at our current and potential customers.
- Use data, information systems, and metrics around financial, brand, competitive landscape, and shopper trends to maximize market share, sales, and profits.
- Develop and execute annual customer operating plans.
- Oversee our Retail promotional spending budget, driving maximum returns on our promotional spending by knowing the ins and out of each account, and what tools work best to achieve our growth objectives.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and promos to maximize sales and profits.
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues effectively.
- Identify potential upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Sales Operations Management:
- Oversee the entire sales process, including lead generation, qualification, and closing deals.
- Facilitate tradeshow, PLR, and customer events
- Other duties as assigned.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product development, and Customer service teams to ensure alignment and support sales efforts.
- Work closely with Finance and Demand Planning to develop accurate sales projections/forecasts and manage the sales department budget
- Communicate sales performance and market insights to senior leadership.
Education and/or Experience and Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in Business Administration or similar field
Minimum Experience: Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in commercial leadership roles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Successful proven track record in consumer goods industry
- Experience developing and managing sales plans
- Experience managing and/or influencing others
- Demonstrated leadership skills in all aspects of sales management, inclusive of pipeline development, sales conversion, and account management and accurate demand planning, partnering with Operations and Marketing to forecast sales.
- Initiative & follow-through
- Strong project management skills
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner
- Proven track record as a strong leader that delivers against business objectives
- Strong decision-making skills with an understanding of where projects fit into overall Company and development strategies
- Strong quantitative ability and comfort with data driven decision processes; a strong understanding of the key metrics to drive the business is expected
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Detail-oriented, operationally focused, able to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
