Job Description:
Position Overview: As an Estimator at Pace Electric in Orlando, Florida, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs and timelines, preparing comprehensive project estimates, and collaborating closely with the project management and sales teams to secure contracts. Your expertise will ensure that our clients receive competitive and realistic estimates for their electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Estimation:
- Evaluate project requirements by reviewing blueprints, specifications, and site visits.
- Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs accurately.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial.
- Minimum expectation is 3 – 5 estimates per week.
- Bid Preparation:
- Develop clear and competitive bid proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to refine bid strategies.
- Submit timely and accurate bids to clients.
- Cost Analysis:
- Analyze project costs and identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Monitor project expenses and provide ongoing cost tracking and reporting.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:
- Solicit quotes and bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals for competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Client Interaction:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their project needs and address questions or concerns regarding estimates.
- Maintain positive client relationships through professionalism and responsiveness.
- Documentation:
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documents.
- Ensure that all estimates are accurately documented and filed for reference.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience 3-5 years as an Estimator in the electrical contracting industry.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical specifications, and construction drawings.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
