The City of Lake Worth Beach invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Parking Customer Service Representative (Part-Time).
This is a Part-Time Permanent, Non-Exempt position based on a 29-hour work week with an hourly rate $16.92.
This position is Non-Bargaining. The individual in this position will work in the Parking Office located at 501 Lake Avenue, Lake Worth Beach, Florida 33460.
Part-time employees are not eligible for City Health and pension plans.
SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the individual in this position will engage and communicate with the general public and City departments regarding parking citations and/or parking services. The individual in this role be responsible for assisting Parking Officers, Employees, and the General Public while assisting with accounts, reports, spreadsheets, various computer programs and other clerical duties. May work as a Part-Time Parking Enforcement Officer as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the public and employees with questions regarding parking in Lake Worth Beach, Florida
- Assist the public and employees with citation information and payments and information.
- Assist the public and employees with permit information and payments and information.
- Assist the public and employees with boat ramp parking and payments and information.
- Assist the public and employees with towing and immobilization payments and information.
- Work in the Parking Office on regular and assigned duties daily. Creating end of day balances.
- Generate and create financial reports.
- Being skilled in operating computers and multiple software systems.
- Use of two-way radio communications.
- Assist with sales of products.
- May act as Parking Hearing representative.
- Maintaining effective communications.
- Managing multiple priorities.
- Being detail oriented.
- Other duties may be assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Researches, investigates and gathers information regarding parking citations.
- Answers telephone calls, received from the general public and provides information or referrals regarding departmental and/or City policies, procedures, applicable rules and regulations and services.
- Communicates, explains, and provides appropriate assistance for individuals regarding the reason for parking citations and procedures for the disposition of the citations: handles citation payments, ensures appropriate processing and enters correct numbers onto spreadsheets. While making necessary citation adjustments as permitted.
- Managing multiple priorities Develops final copies of correspondence and memoranda.
- May act and keep minutes of meetings or hearings.
- Screens visitors, telephone calls and incoming and receives and processes outgoing mail.
- Maintains appropriate hearing documents, files and other items necessary for legal agendas.
- Handles confidential and other sensitive data.
- Types accounting and budgetary reports: special reports; letters and other materials.
- Maintain files and records for department’s use.
- Assembles and gathers data.
- Edits correspondence for grammatical correctness and punctuation.
- Issue citations when requested.
- Assist law enforcement agencies as necessary.
- Will need to be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
- May be required to complete other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED. Three (3) or more years of experience in high volume administrative or customer service; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Proficient in Windows, database management programs and Microsoft Office applications (i.e.: Word, Excel, Access, etc.). Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Must possess or able to obtain State Parking Enforcement Specialist Certification.
