Account Executive
Focus School Software is a fast-growing school management software company. We thrive on creating some of the most innovative features on the market today, helping educators to meet their evolving needs in classrooms, district management, state reporting compliance, and other facets of student-centered education and technology.
Focus is looking for highly motivated individuals to act as account managers for K-12 district clients. The Account Executive will be responsible for primary communication between their assigned Districts and Focus, as well as building relationships with the client to ensure their educational needs are being met. The Account Executive will be expected to demo our product, speak on a highly technical level about the products, and become a professional, reliable liaison between the company and existing / future clients.
Expected Education and Experience:
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree or a year of experience in a similar position within education or a technology-related industry
- Background in an educational setting is strongly preferred
- Experience with Focus School Software preferred
Account Executive Qualifications:
- Demonstrate solid character and integrity

Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with the Account Executive Manager
- Manage Zendesk tickets for assigned districts, working with Tier 2 and Tier 1 as needed to resolve issues
- Weekly and/or bi-weekly status calls with District
- Quarterly or as needed onsite visits
- Coordinate calls with your clients: including scheduling weekly calls and tracking key project milestones and academic dates such as school start/end dates, progress report periods, report card distribution, state reporting windows, holidays, and other time-sensitive events
- Proactively engage clients on new version releases, enhancement requests and key calendar events, such as state reporting, report cards, progress reports etc.
- Train on and present Focus product content
Job Requirements:
- Includes quarterly or as needed travel to each assigned district(s)
- Effectively lead and document calls and onsite meetings as necessary with district(s)
- Coordinate training, development and support with districts after transition from post implementation support to maintenance support
- Flexible work hours
- Complete Level 1 Technical Certification training
