JOB BRIEF

We are looking for a Construction Estimator to calculate estimated costs of multifamily construction projects, in particular exterior claddings, drywall, and framing. The successful candidate will be able to collect and analyze data according to a multitude of variables.

The ideal candidate will be very comfortable with numbers, excel spreadsheets, and PlanSwift Estimating Software. The successful candidate must be capable of paying close attention to detail and must possess excellent communication skills.

The goal is to provide the company with accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Acquire an understanding of the project requirements and specific Scope of Work
• Select all means necessary to produce valid, accurate estimates
• Review contract documents, including plans and specifications, or consult experts to collect all necessary data
• Analyze data and produce forecasts
• Prepare detailed reports, spreadsheets, and bids for submission to appropriate parties
• Foster relationships with key contacts (contractors, architects, vendors, etc.)

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• Proven experience as a construction estimator
• Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
• Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimating metrics
• Comfortable with numbers and technology
• Excellent knowledge of software like PlanSwift or On Screen Takeoff/Quick Bid
• Great attention to detail

· Excellent communication and negotiation skills

· Well-organized and reliable

· BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant field will be a plus

· Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus
