Referral Coordinator / Administrative Medical Assistant Position
Medig is seeking to add to our clinic support team.
The Referral Coordinator/Medical Assistant, RCMA, is responsible for coordinating care and diagnostic referrals for patients. The RCMA acts as a liaison between the patient and provider to ensure that optimal medical care is provided. They represent Medig in a positive manner by demonstrating our company's core value and mission statement. The RCMA works under the primary supervision of the RCMA Operations Manager and general supervision of the medical providers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrates exceptional patient relation skills on the phone and in-person.
- Processes patient referrals to specialty providers and diagnostic facilities by assembling appropriate clinical and billing information.
- Obtains health insurance prior authorizations.
- Troubleshoots any scheduling issues that may occur with referrals.
- Maintains ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation of referrals
- Communicates information to patients as per the providers' instruction.
- Transmits prescriptions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Updates patients' electronic medical charts with EMR scan uploads, medical diary entries, and addendums.
- Maintains regular consistent attendance, personal appearance, punctuality, and adherence to applicable health and safety procedures.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Thursday 8am - 7pm
Job Location: 2 days in Gainesville clinic and 2 days in Lake City clinic

Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant medical office experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate being able to work with a diverse group
- Intermediate to advance phone skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure with minimal supervision
- Flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks
