Information Technology Manager (Field Services Network Support)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in developing, and/or configuring applications, and/or IT infrastructure support/maintenance, and/or radio infrastructure systems, and/or information security are required. Additional related work in developing, and/or configuring applications, and/or IT infrastructure support/maintenance, and/or radio infrastructure systems, and/or information security may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.

The Information Technology Department IT Manager manages the County's Enterprise Communication Local Area Network (LAN). This position involves complex and specialized technical support work in planning, designing, implementing, evaluating, maintaining, and management of complex enterprise data, voice, wireless, and fiber optic networks used in support of applications and control systems. This position entails supervising the work of Network Engineers, and technicians performing a variety of specialized technical assistance functions for operational and programming sections of the county's enterprise communication network. This position plays a dynamic role in directing the analysis of vendor hardware, vendor software, determining corrective measures for hardware and applications malfunctions, determining the most feasible design for interfaces between hardware and application systems, and establishing and enforcing network security and hardware standards.
This position also involves project management, establishing fiscal operational budget, forecasting traffic analysis, conducting feasibility studies, and cost studies of new technology and production network infrastructure. General direction is received from an administrative superior who confers on application and operation problems and evaluates work for quality of results.
