Job Summary
As our Tennis Professional, you will inspire and guide members, juniors, and adult players through highly personalized and group-focused instruction. You’ll develop engaging programs—from private lessons to leagues, social mixers, and junior development clinics. Your role will also blend instruction with light facility oversight to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience on the courts. You will report to the Director of Sports.

• Provide both private and group lessons, tailoring instruction to varying age groups and skill levels.
• Plan, organize, and run tennis clinics, youth camps, social events, leagues, Pro-Am events, and tournaments.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming court environment by overseeing light court maintenance, checking equipment, and enforcing safety protocols.
• Act as a club ambassador by promoting tennis programs, conducting member orientations, and encouraging participation in club events.
• Support administrative functions including lesson scheduling, court bookings, and basic pro shop interactions.
• Collaborate with club staff on event promotion, marketing efforts (e.g. email, social media, newsletters), and tennis program growth.
• Maintain professional standards of service, support team members, and participate in club meetings and functions.

Qualifications:

• Certification from USPTA or PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) required.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a club, recreation, or private tennis setting; competitive playing background preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills—able to motivate players and foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Ability to relate to players of all ages, including juniors, adults, and seniors.
• Court maintenance knowledge—Har-Tru upkeep, equipment checks, safety awareness.
• Administrative and organizational abilities: scheduling, event coordination, basic pro shop tasks.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, as tennis activities require.
• Physical stamina to spend extended periods outdoors, standing, walking, demonstrating strokes, and managing equipment.

Preferred Qualifications (Pluses):

• College degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field.
• Experience using USTA/ALTA systems, organizing competitive teams, or coaching tournament-level players.
• Pro shop merchandising experience or familiarity with racquet stringing and repair.
• Previous success in junior development, especially with “10-and-under” programming.
