Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time position is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract role is based in Port Charlotte, Florida, serving K-12 students in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Deliver specialized instruction using appropriate munication methods, including sign language and assistive technologies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student learning and inclusion.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training relevant to DHH education.

Qualifications:

• Professional certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or related field.
• Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Knowledge of munication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) or oral munication strategies.
• Ability to create accessible and differentiated learning environments.
• Strong collaboration and munication skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
