The role you'll contribute:

The Medical Office Representative is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, reviewing new patient registration, entering patient information into the practice's designated system, & requesting and collecting co-pays/outstanding balances at the time of check-in/check-out. This individual is responsible for taking accurate messages and routing correspondence efficiently. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Welcomes patients appropriately, accurately updates, verifies, and enters patient information (including insurance, billing, and demographics) and processes/scans all forms into appropriate systems.
• Maintains an effective operational flow by communicating patients' status to appropriate team members and keeping patient apprised.
• Communicates in a cordial, professional manner with patients via phone and in person to meet the patient's needs as soon as possible.
• Provides education as necessary to patientregarding test locations, patient portal use, and follow-up (non-clinical) actions.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

• Minimum qualifications :
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to operate a computer, copier, fax, and scanner
• Ability to request and collect co-pays and outstanding balances
• Ability to deal with data that is of a sensitive and confidential nature (HIPAA)
