Generator Technician

Bemana is searching for a Generator Technician to join an excellent team in the Tampa, FL area.

This role is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and small field repairs on generators of all makes and models and a variety of sizes, as well as providing excellent customer service, and keeping accurate records. Generator Technicians will perform preventive maintenance of commercial and industrial diesel/natural gas generators including batteries and belts replacement, coolant flushes, and fuel polishing services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Perform preventative maintenance and small repairs on standby generator systems
• Maintain a vehicle inventory of shop supplies, oil, batteries, coolant, etc.
• Identify causes of generator problems and/or failures
• Participates in On-Call rotation
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of generators both during normal working hours and after hours, weekends, and holidays as directed
• Effectively communicate with customers and team leaders/management

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years of related experience/training or equivalent combination of both education and experience
• Must be open to working overtime, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed
• Previous experience working on commercial and industrial generators preferred
• Preferred knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems (such as controllers, alternators, voltage regulator)
• Proficient with generator and transfer switch controls preferred
