The Licensed Clinical Psychologist provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic services to support clients’ well-being through evidence-based interventions and ethical clinical practice. The Licensed Psychologist or Behavioral Health Therapist is central to supporting patients prescribed GLP-1 medications (e.g., semaglutide, tirzepatide) by addressing the behavioral, psychological, and lifestyle factors that drive long-term success. This position is ideal for a clinician who believes obesity is a chronic disease, not a willpower issue, and who values evidence-based behavioral care alongside medical treatment. Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Behavioral Therapy
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments for patients initiating or continuing GLP-1 therapy
  • Provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities such as:
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
    • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
    • Mindfulness-based interventions
  • Support patients with:
    • Emotional and binge-eating behaviors
    • Medication adherence and treatment persistence
    • Body image concerns and weight-related stigma
    • Anxiety related to appetite changes, food aversion, or nausea
    • Long-term habit formation and relapse prevention
Integrated Care Collaboration
  • Work closely with endocrinologists, obesity medicine providers, NPs, dietitians, and care managers
  • Participating in multidisciplinary case reviews and care planning
  • Identify patients at risk for disengagement, poor adherence, or weight regain
Program & Population Health Support
  • Contribute to standardized behavioral pathways for GLP-1 programs, including:
    • Pre-treatment readiness assessments
    • Ongoing behavioral support schedules
    • Maintenance and off-ramp strategies
  • Facilitate or support group sessions and workshops focused on behavior change and lifestyle sustainability
Documentation & Compliance
  • Document all encounters in the EHR in compliance with clinical, legal, and payer requirements
  • Support appropriate behavioral health billing when applicable
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and ethical standards of care
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted state licensure (PhD, PsyD,)
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, and Counseling etc.
  • Minimum experience providing psychotherapy to adult patients (typically 2–3 years)
  • Proven experience in behavior changes interventions (CBT, MI, ACT, or other evidence-based therapy)
  • Strong understanding of behavior change, eating behaviors, and mental health in medical populations
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Behavioral Health & Medical Integration (PREFERRED)
    • Experience treating patients in medical or integrated care settings
    • Understanding of obesity, metabolic health, or chronic disease management
    • Ability to assess and support patients for long-term adherence to medical treatment
  1. Assessment & Intervention Skills
    • Ability to conduct behavioral health assessments, readiness evaluations, and relapse prevention planning
    • Experience addressing emotional eating, binge-eating behaviors, and body image concerns
    • Skilled in behavioral strategies for habit formation and lifestyle change
  1. Collaboration & Communication (PREFERRED)
    • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team (endocrinologists, dietitians, care managers, etc.)
    • Experience participating in case reviews, care planning, and team-based clinical decision-making
  1. Documentation & Compliance (PREFERRED)
    • Proficiency with EHR documentation
    • Knowledge of HIPAA and ethical/legal standards for behavioral health
  1. Telehealth / Hybrid Competency
    • Ability to deliver therapy via telehealth or hybrid models, if applicable
Optional / Nice-to-Have (Not Must-Have)
  • Training in CBT-E or eating-disorder specific interventions
  • Experience facilitating groups
  • Knowledge of GLP-1 medications
