Clinical Research Navigator

K2 STAFFING LLC
The Villages, FL

At K2 Medical Research, a privately-owned clinical research facility in the greater Orlando and Central Florida area, we specialize in conducting multiphasic clinical trials that promote the development of innovative and effective medical treatments while maintaining the safety and privacy of our participants. We are committed to fighting the diseases that plague our loved ones and ourselves. By harnessing the power of advanced clinical research and connecting our patients with the treatments of tomorrow, we can improve the health of our local communities, and by extent, the population of our world.

K2 is searching for a Clinical Research Navigator for our clinic in The Villages, FL and the external sites it supports.  As a Clinical Research Navigator, you will play a vital role in connecting patients with research opportunities, facilitating their participation in clinical trials, and supporting the advancement of medical knowledge through the clinical research as a care option concept embedded into a clinical practice. You will be responsible for guiding patients through the research process, addressing their concerns, and coordinating with the research team to ensure a seamless experience. This role is responsible for conducting pre-screening, chart reviewing, patient follow-up, trial matching, facilitating education and ensuring seamless coordination between patients and research clinics or other relevant resources. This role will be based out of our clinical partnership’s offices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prescreening: Conduct thorough pre-screenings of potential research participants to assess their eligibility for clinical trials. Gather relevant medical information and coordinate with the research team to determine suitability for participation.
  • Chart Reviewing: Review patient medical charts and records to identify potential research opportunities and ensure accurate documentation of patient data and eligibility criteria.
  • Patient Follow-up: Maintain regular contact with enrolled patients, providing updates on research study progress, answering queries, and addressing concerns. Serve as a point of contact for patients, building strong relationships based on trust and empathy.
  • Trial Match: Collaborate with research teams to match eligible patients with appropriate clinical trials, considering their medical history, preferences, and availability. Ensure accurate and timely communication of study opportunities to potential participants.
  • Coordination: Facilitate seamless coordination between patients and research clinics or other resources. Assist in scheduling appointments, arranging transportation if needed, and ensuring all necessary documentation and consent forms are completed accurately.
  • Resource Referral: Identify and connect patients with additional resources beyond clinical trials, such as support groups, patient advocacy organizations, or educational materials, based on their needs and preferences.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Uphold all ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements related to clinical research activities. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, research activities, and outcomes in compliance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Communication: Maintain and facilitate open and accurate communication with clinic staff and K2 staff. Understand and be knowledgeable of the clinic’s policies and guidelines and be always respectful of the staff and practices. Participate in all clinic activities as part of the staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
