Essential Functions:
  • Hands-on Surface Mount Technology maintenance experience with Fuji, Panasonic, ASM, Yamaha and Universal platforms; including vision systems, heads/nozzles, feeders, and motion systems.
  • Serve as first-response for SMT line stoppages; restore flow within target MTTR.
  • Diagnose at machine, feeder, and process level (vision alignment, nozzle/feeder wear, paste transfer, placement accuracy, AOI false calls); implement interim containment and permanent corrective actions
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance per OEM manuals and internal standard work; document all activities and failure modes
  • Provide complex electronic, electromechanical, or similarly related technical support for production or aftermarket repair services as assigned.
  • Aid in the set-up of production equipment using established procedures, schematics and applicable Engineering, Manufacturing, Component Maintenance Manuals, or other approved documentation.
  • Ability to recreate production problems to aid in resolution of process difficulties, which is critical for finding long-term solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues by identifying and solving end-user problems with production applications, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining productivity.
  • Ability to test, calibrate, adjust and maintain measuring instruments to conform to set standards (based on work assignment).
  • Analyze process performance and product quality data and provide timely response to issues raised by Production personnel.
  • Ability to modify process parameters to maintain product quality and prevent production stoppages (within limits established by Engineering).
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively will all appropriate team members and support staff in team discussions, sharing ideas, and information to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: ability to identify and implement cost-saving measures by streamlining processes and systems, contributing to the overall efficiency of the operations.
  • Provide training and assistance to production floor users, enhancing their ability to utilize the production applications effectively.
  • Must adhere to all applicable safety and health rules and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • 2-year technical degree/certificate in a directly related discipline (2-years equivalent industry experience).
  • Demonstrated depth and breadth of product and industry knowledge and ability to communicate that knowledge to others.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical information and instructions.
  • Working knowledge of IPC and J-STD technical standards.
  • Ability to lift/move material up to 35 pounds.
  • May be required to work with hazardous materials.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

Desired Skills / Experience:
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer to navigate Online documents, drawings, and instructions.
  • Understanding of basic circuit card assembly processing, to include, but not limited to SMT, SMT inspection (SPI, AOI, AXI), Through hole soldering (Selective Solder, Wave), Wash, General Mechanical Assembly, Conformal Coating, Final Assembly.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related job experience.
  • Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with LEAN concepts and tools.
