Summary
SALARIES: $68,251.44 (annual salary of $64,999.44 plus competitive area differential pay of $3,252.00).
*$61,751.52 IF AWAITING MEMBERSHIP IN THE FLORIDA BAR
(annual salary of $58,499.52 plus competitive area differential pay of $3,252.00)
Position is a two year term and can be renewed. This is an excellent opportunity to fine-tune your legal research and writing skills and contribute to the furtherance of justice.
The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist the judiciary by drafting memoranda and orders; conducting legal research; reviewing motions and case files; and advising judges on pending litigation and issues.
If not a member of the Florida Bar, the selected candidate must sit for the upcoming Florida Bar Exam.
Examples of Work Performed
- Perform legal research for the court and advise judges and other members of the legal team.
- Draft concise, well-researched orders.
- Keep abreast of changes in the law.
- Review complaints, petitions, motions, or pleadings.
- Interact with Judges, other trial court staff attorneys, General Counsel, and court personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited law school and membership or expected membership in the Florida Bar; Exceptional writing skills; Well-rounded understanding of many areas of law, court procedures, court systems, and judicial rules.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in a technologically driven environment with intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Knowledge of court procedures and legal terminology.
- Must be highly organized, attentive to detail, comfortable working in stressful situations, and able to effectively prioritize assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse set of people in an open and friendly manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
