Job Summary:
The General Manager at Bayside Café is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's front and back of the house operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient service, and smooth daily operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to manage staff effectively while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate front-of-house staff, including hosts, servers, and bartenders, to ensure efficient and high-quality service.
- Provide hands-on leadership during peak hours, assisting with service as needed.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to uphold the café's service and hospitality standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address any concerns or complaints.
- Oversee reservations, seating arrangements, and overall dining room flow to optimize guest experience.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and sanitary dining environment.
- Manage front-of-house inventory, including supplies, menus, and service equipment.
- Responsible for budgeting & forecasting, cost control, and revenue goals to enhance profitability.
- Work closely with the kitchen and back-of-house team to ensure seamless operations.
- Enforce resort policies and procedures to uphold a positive work environment.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations.
- Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and a guest-first mentality.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, service standards, and hospitality best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with a positive and professional demeanor.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain food safety and alcohol service certifications as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping to perform operational duties.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise levels.
- Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings, subject to varying temperatures.
