Job Requirements

Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, administers and controls the operations of the Engineering, Maintenance, Grounds departments. May also manage the Safety and Security departments. Fills all duties of hospital safety officer. Maintains compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including; The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State and Local agencies, The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc. Manages staff and contractors to adequately maintain the efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings. Utilizes computer programs to plan, predict, maintain and repair building and equipment. Utilizes energy management and tracking tools to maintain efficient utility operations. Develops and manages operating and capital budgets.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid driverâ€s license
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, Joint Commission and CMS standards, OSHA, EPA and state and local codes and standards
  • Holds current Certified Healthcare Facility Manager certification or has the ability to obtain within one year
  • Is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and participates in local ASHE chapters, meeting, training
  • Experience or working knowledge in all aspects of building trades, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry
  • Intermediate level computer experience. Utilizes Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and Building Management Systems
  • Previous project management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing a diverse labor force. Ability to interact with senior leadership in a professional manner.
