About the Position
- Shift: Nights – 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Hours: 36–48 hrs/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Responsibilities
- Provide critical care to cardiovascular ICU patients, including post-open heart and cardiac surgery patients
- Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, ventilators, and vasoactive drips
- Administer medications, blood products, and titratable infusions safely
- Care for patients with devices such as arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, pacemakers, and Swan-Ganz catheters
- Respond rapidly to emergencies, code blue situations, and patient deterioration
- Collaborate with intensivists, cardiologists, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in EMR
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery process
- Maintain infection control and hospital safety standards
- Float within ICU/Critical Care areas if required by facility policy
Requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Must have recent CVICU experience
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
