Associate Superintendent of Education / Early Childhood Program Director & Grades K-2 Supervisor
The Associate Superintendent of Education / Early Childhood & Grades K-2 provides leadership, supervision, and support for early childhood education centers and schools serving children from birth through grade 2 throughout the Florida Conference. This position is responsible for promoting excellence in instruction, curriculum implementation, program quality, teacher development, and operational compliance while advancing the mission and philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist education. The Associate Superintendent serves as a resource to early childhood education centers and schools by providing guidance to administrators, teachers, and boards on educational best practices, program development, legislative requirements, and instructional leadership. This individual collaborates with educational leaders to strengthen programs, support student achievement, and ensure alignment with the educational standards and objectives of the Florida Conference Office of Education. The Superintendent also represents the Florida Conference Office of Education at conference, union, and other educational meetings as assigned. Skills, Education, and Experience Required:

- Thorough knowledge of early childhood and primary-grade curriculum, child development, instructional practices, and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with a variety of early childhood educational philosophies, curriculum models, and pedagogical approaches.
- Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and supervisory skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, administrators, board members, parents, and community stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in current educational technology, software applications, and instructional tools.

- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
- Valid teaching credentials required.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of successful experience in early childhood education and educational administration.
- Experience teaching and/or supervising programs serving children from early childhood (birth) through Grade 2.
- Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership, teacher supervision, coaching, and program development.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide documentation upon employment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Promote the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy of education and ensure alignment with the curriculum guidelines and requirements of the North American Division, Southern Union Conference, and Florida Conference.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for all school-based and center-based early childhood programs serving children from birth through grade 2.
- Supervise, coach, and support early childhood and K–2 teachers to strengthen instructional effectiveness and professional growth.
- Conduct classroom observations, supervision visits, and teacher evaluations as assigned.
- Coordinate and oversee early childhood program evaluations.
- Provide information and guidance regarding program start-up, operational requirements, and best practices.
- Assist schools and centers with Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) qualifications and compliance requirements.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting early childhood programs and provide guidance for implementation.
- Provide administrative and leadership counsel to local administrators, center directors, and governing boards regarding program operations and effectiveness.
- Chair the Florida Early Childhood Advisory (FLECA) meetings and provide reports and Minutes to the Board of Education.
- Provide teacher training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for conference and state initiatives.
- Assist with the coordination and communication of annual teacher collaborative groups and leadership training programs.
- Present and facilitate leadership, coaching, and professional development training sessions.
- Represent the Florida Conference Office of Education at various meetings, including the Southern Union Elementary Advisory, Early Childhood Advisory, and Education Council, as well as other union or conference committees as assigned.
- Participate in school evaluation and accreditation teams as assigned.
- Research and communicate grant opportunities and resources available to early childhood programs.
- Collaborate with the Office of Education leadership team to identify goals, build partnerships, and advance educational initiatives.
- Support curriculum development efforts and instructional coaching initiatives.
- Pursue ongoing professional growth and remain current in educational trends, philosophies, curriculum, and instructional practices.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
