Classification Title:

Assistant Director Research Administration

Classification Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Neuroscience and will oversee the pre- and post-award administration process of contracts and grants worth over $22 million.

The incumbent in this position will work closely with faculty and staff to optimize the department research submissions and processes. This position formulates and implements policies and procedures related to grant administration and management for the department ensuring compliance with University State and Federal regulations and standards. This position supervises and provides direction and guidance to the research administration team.

Additionally the incumbent is responsible for maintaining departmental research infrastructure overseeing departmental research processes and operations and collaborating on the development of the annual department budget in conjunction with the departments Director of Administrative Services.

Required Qualifications:

Masters degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

Thorough knowledge of UF and NIH research funding guidelines federal regulations and procedures.

4 years or more experience with UFIRST fiscal and grant modules.

Experience with NIH Commons procedures.

Knowledge of UF personnel & payroll policies and cost accounting procedures.

Ability to effectively communicate direct supervise mentor and train employee
