We are currently partnering with a leading company in the environmental services industry to identify a strong Operations Manager for their onsite wastewater treatment facility located at the Heart of Florida Landfill in Lake Panasoffkee, FL. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the onsite wastewater treatment facility while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and strong customer collaboration. The Operations Manager will oversee a team that includes 8 Operators on rotating shifts, Material Handlers, and one Lead Operator, and will be responsible for driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the facility.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner and in full compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements
• Oversee daily plant operations, production, and maintenance activities for the onsite wastewater treatment facility
• Maintain and improve infrastructure, equipment functionality, and preventative maintenance programs
• Lead startup and shutdown of process units and utilities as needed
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate emergency response activities
• Supervise, coach, and develop operators and staff to ensure proper training and qualifications
• Maintain standardized operating procedures, energy control procedures, blind lists, and master control documents (including redlined P&IDs)
• Review shift documentation, logs, and reports for accuracy and completeness
• Manage payroll, scheduling, departmental budgets, and supply ordering
• Track, report, and analyze KPIs for the Operations Department
• Model strong leadership aligned with company values and ethical standards

Who We’re Looking For

• 2–3+ years of experience operating and managing a large industrial or manufacturing facility
• Experience in wastewater treatment operations preferred
• Strong knowledge of filtration systems, bulk liquid transfer, and plant infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with reverse osmosis and membrane ultrafiltration systems preferred
• Proven leadership experience supervising multi-shift teams
• Experience overseeing maintenance activities and coordinating with vendors
• Familiarity with PSM, safety standards, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency with HMIs and process operations systems
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, OneNote)
• Experience in a chemical processing environment is a plus

What You Can Expect

• $75,000 - $95,000/year
• Schedule of Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm, averaging 50-60 hours each week
