EDMS Technical Project Lead

The Opportunity
TECKpert's client, a government agency in Tallahassee, FL, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced technical and functional expert to join their Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role and contribute to the strategic advancement of enterprise information management within a dynamic environment. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in large-scale upgrades and implementations, ensuring the effective utilization and continuous improvement of the EDMS system to positively impact business processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce information governance risks.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide advanced support for OpenText ECM eDOCS Version 5.X or higher in a distributed environment.
- Perform Library Maintenance and OpenText database table administration tasks using OpenText Administration tools.
- Manage and monitor EDMS server environments, both on-premises and in the Azure cloud, ensuring system stability and performance.
- Execute regular server patching, updates, and configuration management to maintain security and compliance.
- Coordinate backup and recovery processes for EDMS data and related databases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-level and application-level issues impacting EDMS availability.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure and cloud teams for seamless migration of EDMS servers and services to Azure.
- Provide ongoing operational support for Azure cloud-hosted EDMS instances, applying cloud best practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for server environments, maintenance procedures, and cloud configurations.
- Create training materials and deliver remote/onsite training to department users.
- Facilitate the resolution of complex technical issues, planning, and implementation related to EDMS.
- Serve as a principal EDMS Representative and liaison with business offices and corporate customers.
- Offer suggestions and solutions for third-party applications interacting with EDMS.
- Collaborate on cross-team and cross-product technical issues with other groups.
- Consult with staff on issues requiring further investigation.
- Support and coordinate logistics for conferences, meetings, and other events.
Compensation and Term
This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $105,000per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.
Qualifications you need
A successful candidate has the following experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of OpenText eDOCS EDMS experience in a leadership, team lead, principal lead technician, or managerial role.
- Advanced knowledge of OpenText eDOCS EDMS with experience in leadership or escalations.
- 3 to 5 years of systems analysis/programming experience, including large-scale implementations, system upgrades, and library consolidations.
- Experience in minicomputer or client/server environments, supporting resource planning, marketing, financial, and distribution systems.
- High proficiency in analyzing, planning, creating, and implementing document control-related IT tools, databases, and administrative procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to improve projects through expertise and breadth of experience.
- Proficiency in analyzing processes and workflows to design efficient information solutions.
- Ability to develop and manage information systems documentation according to department standards.v
- Experience creating, maintaining, and supporting SQL Server database environments.
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining and managing server environments, including on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, including Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, security, and best practices.
- Experience with server patching, performance monitoring, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting in hybrid server/cloud environments.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
