Overview

This position requires direct contact with our clients (incoming and outgoing calls) and our suppliers to ensure a high level of performance in the supply chain movement. Arrange outbound/inbound cargo shipments from start to finish. Communicate with both internal team members and external parties (vendors, customers). Investigate and resolve problems for all shipments and support the operations department with complete freight/cargo/asset management. The function of this role encompasses complete oversight of all import and export duties for international transportation as well as Company transportation asset management and management of 3PL vendors and their involvement in moving company cargo.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory and create PO's when product on site runs low as well as freight PO creation to move product to warehouse
  • Manage the receiving and shipping schedule of products. (including Team Google Calendar)
  • Create item receipts when received purchase orders enter warehouse and ensure the piece count of items received is accurately recorded and the location of the warehouse is properly recorded.
  • Generate item fulfillments by entering the data received from the warehouse staff. Update the pick, pack, ship status of sales orders as needed.
  • Create sales orders for approval for customer orders and communicate with accounting on PO's required to ship.
  • Dispatch delivery orders to company drivers and record the unit number of the trailers being delivered by company trucks.
  • Check in and out trailers that enter or leave our property to maintain record of where all assets are.
  • Tag trailers that need repairs and report needed repairs to our mechanic in a timely manner. Once repairs are completed, responsible for changing status in the system.
  • Coordinate and communicate with customers about upcoming delivery appointments.
  • Ensure all shipments meet customer requirements and expected delivery dates by coordinating ship date requirements with sales and operations managers and interacting with internal departments, customer logistics and transportation entities.
  • Ensure compliance in shipment record keeping by accurately preparing or reviewing all necessary shipping and receiving documentation such as delivery bill of ladings.
  • Analyze and implement cost-saving methods by optimizing routing for all inbound and outbound shipments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years (five years preferred) of experience working in a shipping and receiving or inventory role.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning software such as SAP OR warehouse management software
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience (or experience with similar products)
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in logistics or sales or one or more years of experience as a logistics coordinator or sales lead. Individuals with dispatching experience are welcome to apply.
