Job Title: Line Cook – Fine Dining Asian Cuisine
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cook to join our culinary team in a sophisticated, high-end Asian dining environment. The ideal candidate combines technical culinary expertise with an eye for artistic presentation, delivering dishes that highlight flavor, authenticity, and creativity. You will work under the guidance of the Executive Chef to prepare and execute menu items with precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and plate high-end Asian dishes including sushi, sashimi, dim sum, noodles, and contemporary fusion cuisine
- Maintain consistency in flavor, portion, and presentation for every dish
- Assist in daily mise en place and ensure workstations are organized, fully stocked, and clean
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with chefs and team members to ensure seamless service and timely execution
- Assist in menu development and incorporate seasonal ingredients
- Monitor inventory, report shortages, and minimize waste
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years experience in fine dining or high-end Asian cuisine
- Expertise in Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean, or pan-Asian culinary techniques
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of specialized Asian kitchen tools
- Understanding of modern plating, presentation, and flavor balance
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or formal training, especially in Asian cuisine
- Experience with contemporary or fusion Asian menus
- Knowledge of ingredient sourcing and specialty Asian products
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
- Standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Exposure to hot surfaces, sharp tools, and commercial kitchen equipment
