Driver

A Structural Steel Delivery Driver operates heavy-duty CDL trucks to safely transport structural steel components, including beams, columns, and fabricated materials, from fabrication shops to active construction sites. This role requires strict adherence to DOT and company safety regulations, with a strong focus on load securement, jobsite awareness, and on-time delivery.

• Secure oversized and heavy steel loads using chains, straps, binders, and other approved securement devices in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Verify bills of lading and shipping documentation for accuracy.
• Maintain required DOT logs and records.
• Assist with and coordinate safe crane unloading at construction sites.
• Work closely with riggers, crane operators, and site supervisors to ensure safe material placement.

• Valid CDL Class A (Class B acceptable if applicable to equipment).
• Minimum 2–3 years of CDL driving experience, preferably hauling steel or construction materials.
• Proven experience securing oversized and heavy flatbed loads using chains, binders, and straps.
• Clean driving record and strong safety history.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, including hours-of-service requirements.
• Ability to safely operate and inspect heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Comfortable assisting with crane unloading operations at active construction sites.
• Ability to read and verify shipping documents, delivery tickets, and bills of lading.
• Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and jobsite personnel.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet delivery schedules.

• Customer service oriented.

This position follows a day shift schedule of 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with workdays primarily consisting of local and regional deliveries throughout South Florida, extending north to the Orlando area. Drivers are home daily and must be comfortable navigating busy construction sites and urban driving conditions. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety while representing the company at fabrication shops, job sites, and customer locations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Oakland Park, FL.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $54080.00/yr.
