Sous Chef

Vineyards Country Club is seeking a talented and dependable Sous Chef to join our Culinary Team. This hourly position requires availability for evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.

The ideal candidate will assist in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained. The Sous Chef will play a key leadership role in supporting the Executive Chef and will be responsible for overseeing kitchen staff, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and properly closing the kitchen at the end of service.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Supervise and motivate kitchen team members during service.
• Ensure food is prepared to club standards for quality, taste, and presentation.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in accordance with health regulations.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and receiving supplies.
• Responsible for kitchen closing procedures, including cleaning, securing food storage, and equipment shutdown.
• Lead by example, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a club, resort, or fine dining setting.
• Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Proven ability to supervise and train kitchen staff.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Must be reliable, organized, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
