Sous Chef
Vineyards Country Club is seeking a talented, motivated, and dependable Sous Chef to join our Culinary Team. This hourly leadership position requires availability for evening shifts, weekends, and holidays and offers the opportunity to work in a high-quality, member-focused environment.
The Sous Chef plays a key role in the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring that food quality, consistency, and presentation consistently meet the high standards our members expect. This individual will work closely with the Executive Chef, provide hands-on leadership during service, and oversee proper kitchen closing procedures each evening.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef with all aspects of kitchen operations, food preparation, and service execution.
- Supervise, train, and motivate culinary team members to maintain efficiency and excellence during service.
- Ensure all menu items are prepared according to Club standards for quality, taste, consistency, and presentation.
- Maintain strict sanitation and food safety standards in compliance with all health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and proper product storage.
- Oversee nightly closing procedures, including kitchen sanitation, proper food storage, and equipment shutdown.
- Lead by example by promoting teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and a positive kitchen culture.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen; country club, resort, or fine dining experience preferred.
- Strong culinary knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and develop kitchen staff.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- Highly organized, reliable, and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience developing and maintaining standardized recipes to ensure consistency and cost control.
- Strong inventory management and tracking skills; experience with inventory management software is a plus.
