GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

A construction drywall superintendent is a person who plans and coordinates construction projects. The superintendent coordinates labor, material, and equipment resources to ensure construction projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. Superintendent will be required to manage foreman that are responsible for specific aspects of our projects.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to understand contract documents including architectural, structural and other trade drawings, project specifications, project schedules, contract scope, ASTM, UL, SDS and other related support data.
• Must have knowledge of exterior and interior metal framing, insulation, gypsum board assemblies, finishing, EIFS/stucco, doors/frames/hardware, acoustical and other specialty ceilings, acoustical wall panels, cement siding.
• Must be able to perform layout.
• Must be able to determine material needs, prepare procurement orders, manage material and equipment lead times and coordinate delivery logistics.
• Must have working knowledge of safety procedures including OSHA rules. Safety certifications for OSHA 30-hour, 10-hour, CPR/First Aid, manlift/forklift, and pin guns, are a plus.
• Must be able to lead multiple staff and subcontractors.
• Must understand budgeting and cost management.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• The superintendent position is required to use smart devices such as tablets, cellular phones, and laptops. This also includes applications or software on smart devices for reading blueprints, communicating via email, digital time management applications, etc.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with company staff, clients, and owners via email, daily reports, etc.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Position will require local travel in the geographic service area of the corporate office. United Wall Systems works throughout the State of Florida.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience in the commercial construction industry is a plus.
• Candidate must be forward thinking.
• Candidate must have a clean driving record.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• This position requires basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, as well as minor algebra and trigonometry.
• The position may require lifting of heavy objects that may weigh 50 lbs.
• The use of photographs to illustrate progress or obstacles that prevent construction.
• Candidate must have good spelling and grammar skills.
• Knowledge of rigging a trailer is not required but is a plus.
• This position may require occasional weekends or nights.
