As an integral member of the Ackerman team, our Staff Accountant performs a wide array of responsibilities, including reporting, analysis, data reconciliation, and working with auditors. This is a fantastic opportunity to put your analytical and technical skills to work with a growing private equity-backed company that specializes in complex consolidated accounting methods via mergers and acquisitions. Must be highly motivated and able to problem-solve utilizing technology to optimize operations. Excellent opportunity for growth with significant exposure to Senior Leadership. This role pays up to $75k and is bonus-eligible based on experience level of the candidate. About Ackerman

The Staff Accountant will be the right-hand person supporting the Controller. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, a willingness to learn and roll up their sleeves, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality. Primary Responsibilities
- Assists with the month-end closing and reporting process.
- Assists in preparing the monthly financial reporting and analysis package.
- [Manager two AP clerks] / [Administer accounts payable]
- Prepares and records journal entries, including the month-end closing process entries.
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations in support of the financial statements.
- Prepares and maintains weekly cash flow forecast.
- Performs variance analyses.
- Assists the VP of Finance/Controller in the annual financial audit with external auditors.
- Performs ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
This position does not require travel. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, plus
- 2+ years of accounting experience, OR
- The equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Sage Intacct preferred (Construction and Real Estate Software)
