Senior Accountant
Summary of Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing the company’s financial records, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and tax regulations, and delivering financial insights that support strategic decision-making. This position will manage daily accounting operations, assist in audits, and help strengthen internal financial systems and controls.
The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and experienced in both transactional accounting and month-end processes. Prior experience in the manufacturing industry and familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform general accounting and organize financial documents and records.
- Assist the Controller with the preparation of Monthly Financial Reports and Analyses
- Ensure adherence to US GAAP and applicable tax regulations.
- Take ownership of the month-end close process and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain and enhance financial internal controls.
- Prepare daily and weekly KPI reports (Orders, Sales, Labor Hours & OT, Inventory Levels, etc.)
- Develop and Maintain a system of Cost Accounting Standard Costs for production.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet, general ledger accounts, including Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, Warranty Reserves, Accrued Payroll & Benefits, and Fixed Assets
- Perform General Ledger account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain Accounting Records and Schedules for Fixed Assets & CapEx Projects.
- Assist Controller in developing budgets and forecasts; monitor variances and provide analysis.
- Participate in financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support the Controller and CFO during audits and ensure all documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
- Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with potential for hybrid flexibility depending on company policy.
- Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end or audit periods.
- Occasional travel within the U.S. (<15%)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably as a Senior Accountant.
- Public Accounting Experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Proven experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; ERP experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
