Nuclear Design Change Engineer

Join WECTEC Staffing Services as a Nuclear Design Change Engineer on a 12-month assignment with a remote/hybrid setup. You’ll drive design change packages using the fleet-wide Standard Design Change process applied across U.S. nuclear plants, while supporting project implementation, test planning, Applicability Determinations, and 10 CFR 50.59 screenings.

A Day in the Role

• Kick off with a cross-functional huddle to align on active design modifications and integration milestones.
• Develop and refine Design Change Packages, coordinating inputs from systems engineering, operations, and licensing.
• Lead technical discussions to troubleshoot issues and move design production forward.
• Execute and review Applicability Determinations; perform and document 50.59 screenings.
• Author and validate test plans to verify design changes meet nuclear standards and plant requirements.
• Serve as a go-to technical liaison for stakeholders within the nuclear business unit.
• Apply industry codes, standards, and regulations to novel situations requiring sound engineering judgment.
• Handle other related assignments to support safe, timely project execution.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 5–8 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years in the nuclear sector.
• Proficiency with nuclear industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and complex problem solving.
• Comfort working independently with broad latitude to recommend technical solutions.
• Strong facilitation skills for group problem-solving and design coordination.
