Overview:
Lifeworks Wellness Center is looking for an energetic new team member to join our medical practice in Clearwater, Florida. The Medical Checkout Cashier is responsible for ensuring all patient services are paid in full and patient accounts are up to date. The cashier is also responsible for maintaining patient flow at the Checkout desk and ensuring that patients receive the assistance they need in a timely manner.

People travel from all over the world to see our doctors and receive our lifesaving holistic treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Is professional, kind, and friendly in manner when greeting all patients.
  • Review patient chart for all treatments received and verifies with patient.
  • Debits treatments received from prepaid packages.
  • Collect payments on treatments received that are not part of a prepaid package.
  • Collect outstanding bills from past patients.
  • Answer questions regarding payment or package information.
  • Review the list of supplements being purchased with the patient and has the patient sign receipt and enter the information into clinical activity that the patient has received these supplements.
  • Accurately enter all info into patient chart including prices and codes, treatments and services and correctly charged.
  • Ensure patient has signed applicable consents related to their purchase.
  • Supplies correct protocols for patient supplements, treatments and any other purchases.
  • Ensure that the patient has signed the receipt and invoice for each purchase.
  • Route New Patients (those patients who have not yet completed their lab testing) to the Service Consultant who will receive payment for lab testing and/or any packages that the patient wishes to purchase when they first start treatment at LifeWorks Wellness Center.
  • Complete patient chart audits routinely.
  • Complete super bills for patients.
  • Clean, sanitize and organize the checkout window minimally every few hours.
  • End of day report completed and forwarded to management by end of each business day.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have good familiarity of medical terminology.
  • Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries from patients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 45 WPM.
  • General office equipment knowledge (copy machine, fax, computer, etc.)
  • Must be dependable, highly organized, systematic, and excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years professional experience in a medical setting
  • Experience using an EMR system a plus
Language Skills:
Must speak English. Must have excellent interactive communication skills, making patients feel comfortable and at ease.

Physical Demands of Position:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
  • Sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or phone
  • Maintain focus and composure in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when speaking with individuals seeking care
Compensation: $25 per hour


Hours:
Full-time, minimum of 37.5 hours per week
Monday through Friday
