POSITION SUMMARY

The Therapist is an advanced professional position that provides direct therapeutic services to identified mental health and substance abuse patients within the Forensics Treatment Program North Campus. The therapist will be responsible for maintaining patient care following program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.). The therapist will provide clinical services, specifically psychosocial assessments and treatment planning, to the following populations: individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of a Master's Degree in a related field of study
  • Must have one of the following valid and active licenses in Mental Health Counseling, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida
  • Computer proficient in EMR and MS Office programs
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus, but not required
  • Previous experience in mental health is a plus!
  • Must be at least 21 or old, have a valid driver's license, and have reliable personal transportation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients and develop service plans, treatment plans, and discharge plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions with adults, children, and families in an outpatient, acute care inpatient, or community setting.
  • Accurate and timely documentation of clinical and administrative services following program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.).
  • Meets productivity requirements for the designated program through efficient workflow management.
  • Maintains cooperative relationships with other internal departments and external agencies and keeps the supervisor informed at all times of all relevant client, program, and community issues
  • Understands the basic tenets of Co-Occurring disorders and the relationship between mental health and substance abuse.
  • The therapist will also demonstrate knowledge of the age-specific needs of the clients treated in the program.
  • The therapist will be responsible for maintaining patient care following program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.) for various populations, inclusive of individuals, families, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.
