Principal / Sr. Principal Cyber Systems DevOps Engineer

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes. Develop and manage infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud/On-Prem cloud resources. Automate the deployment and configuration of virtual machines and containers using tools like Ansible and Docker. Collaborate with software development teams to integrate automated testing and ensure code quality through continuous feedback. Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability of applications in cloud environments. Create and maintain custom automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Develop scripts and automation workflows for virtual test station deployment and configuration management. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for automated systems and processes. Document automation processes, best practices, and operational guidelines for team knowledge sharing. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations in automation and DevOps practices. This requisition may be filled at a Principal Cyber Systems DevOps Engineer (Level 3) OR Sr. Principal Cyber Systems DevOps Engineer (Level 4) level based on the qualifications below. Principal Cyber Systems DevOps Engineer (Level 3) Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience. Proficiency in software development with experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services for managing infrastructure. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) for automating system configurations. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure system health and performance. Understanding of Agile methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to support project management.
