TAMPA SUBSURFACE UTILITY ENGINEERING (SUE) TECHNICIAN 2 & 3
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide underground utility designation with proficiency utilizing ground penetrating radar and electromagnetic equipment and other geophysical means.
- Designate all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, and all other underground facilities.
- Mark said utilities with flags and/or paint and produce accurate field drawings and sketches of results.
- Operate vacuum excavation truck and other related equipment to verify utility characteristics and record depth of utility.
- Assist with maintenance of vehicle/trucks, equipment, and work sites.
- Exercise extreme caution near or around any utility facility and follow all applicable job site safety parameters.
Requirements
- High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school.
- Experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies is a plus.
- Valid Florida driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
- Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time).
- Required to travel overnight when needed.
- Required to work 50+ hours during busy periods.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on project.
- Knowledge of equipment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work for any employer in the United States.
- Minimum of 1 year experience.
- Experience with operating vacuum excavation equipment and some exposure to electromagnetic designating equipment and ground penetrating radar (GPR).
- Top level candidates should have experience operating and instructing others how to operate vacuum excavation equipment, electromagnetic designating equipment, and ground penetrating radar (GPR).
