Industrial Maintenance Technician - Plant Operations Lead

Position Snapshot

Shift: 5p–5a on a 3 days on / 2 off / 2 on / 3 off rotation during peak season. Off-peak mirrors the rotation at 5a–5p .

As an Industrial Maintenance Technician serving as an operations lead, you’ll take on advanced, hands-on responsibilities to keep Reddy Ice’s manufacturing and processing systems running reliably. You’ll operate equipment, execute preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, select and use the right tools, and complete small repairs across the facility and grounds.

What You’ll Do

• Operate production and support equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to maximize uptime and asset life.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment problems; escalate when needed.
• Identify, select, and properly use hand and powered tools for repairs.
• Complete minor facility and property repairs to support daily operations.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment.

Preferred Credentials

4+ years in industrial maintenance and completion of ONE of the following:

• Programmable Logic Controller Certification – Electronics Technicians Association International
• Journeyman Certification/License in Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical – State Certifying Authority
• Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator – Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association
• Certified Maintenance Technician Level III – International Maintenance Institute
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician – Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Work ranges from office space to all indoor/outdoor plant areas.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, ammonia, and heavy moving equipment.
• Nights and weekends are part of the schedule; occasional travel may be required.
• Overtime may be required in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to manage stress, build professional, collaborative relationships, and reason through complex situations.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Comfort using hand tools and heavy electric tools; ability to lift at least 45 lbs.
