Job Summary

A respected legal services firm in Tampa, FL is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its litigation practice on a direct hire basis. This opportunity is ideal for a litigation attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience who is ready to take on meaningful case responsibility, work directly with clients, and continue building strong litigation skills in commercial, business, civil, insurance, property, and contract dispute matters.

The Associate Attorney will work closely with experienced attorneys and legal support professionals in a collaborative environment that values strong legal analysis, practical litigation judgment, teamwork, and professional development. This role offers supportive leadership, substantive case involvement, and hands-on experience with pleadings, discovery, depositions, hearings, mediation, arbitration, trial preparation, and client communication.

This is a strong opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused attorney who wants to grow within a positive legal team while taking ownership of litigation matters and contributing to successful case outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage commercial, business, and civil litigation matters from case intake through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
- Conduct legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and assist in developing effective litigation strategies.
- Take and defend depositions, prepare clients and witnesses, and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, court personnel, attorneys, and internal staff.
- Maintain litigation calendars, case deadlines, case files, and overall matter organization.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
- Pay is expected to be around $120,000, with flexibility to pay more for the right candidate.
- Direct hire opportunity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Manage active litigation matters involving commercial, business, civil, insurance, property, and contract disputes.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and litigation correspondence.
- Support litigation strategy through legal research, case analysis, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, courts, attorneys, and legal support staff.

- 3 to 5 years of litigation experience.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Florida.
- Experience with civil litigation procedures, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, and case management.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, organize case files, and handle multiple litigation matters with attention to detail.
- Professional communication skills and a client-focused approach.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, clients, and outside parties.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience handling commercial litigation, business disputes, insurance matters, property disputes, or contract disputes.
- Prior experience participating in mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
- Courtroom, hearing, and deposition experience.
- Strong interest in growing within a collaborative litigation practice with supportive leadership and meaningful case responsibility.
