Senior Caregiver

Live-in companion, caretaker, and housekeeper needed for a 46?year?old woman in the North Port/Port Charlotte, FL area. Must be comfortable living with and respecting her trained service dog, who provides critical assistance. Duties and responsibilities Provide companionship: engaging conversation, shared activities (TV, reading, crafts, walks as able), emotional support, and reducing isolation. Assist with daily routines: gentle reminders for medications, appointments, meals, hydration, self?care, and rest as needed. Light personal assistance: help with mobility around the home, basic grooming support if requested, and general safety oversight. Housekeeping: light cleaning (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room), dishes, tidying, trash removal, organizing, laundry, and linens. Meal help: simple meal preparation, snacks, following dietary preferences, and kitchen clean?up. Errands and appointments: accompanying to medical visits, shopping, outings; help with lists, schedules, and forms. Service dog support: comfortable around a trained service dog--provide basic husbandry assistance (feeding, walking, grooming if needed), respect the dog's working role, follow handler instructions, and ensure the dog's needs are met without interfering with tasks. Monitoring and communication: notice changes in mood, health, mobility, or dog's behavior; report promptly to family or designated contacts. Live-in details Private bedroom and bathroom provided in the home (North Port/Port Charlotte, FL). 24/7 presence with sleep breaks (not on-duty all night); Shared common areas; must maintain tidiness and respect privacy. Skills and qualities Compassionate, patient, respectful of independence and dignity. Good listener, communicator; adaptable to quiet or social companionship. Trustworthy, dependable, with clear boundaries and privacy respect. Basic housekeeping, simple cooking, and pet care experience (service dogs specifically a plus). Non-smoker; comfortable following care routines, medical/household instructions, and service dog protocols.
