Litigation Paralegal

As litigation paralegal, you will have the opportunity to perform legal research, interact with clients, attorneys, and courts, and assist with trial preparation. Areas of law are construction litigation and civil litigation. Under the direction of the attorneys, the Paralegal assists with case planning, development, and management, legal research, interviews clients, gathers facts and retrieves information, drafts and analyzes legal documents and collects, complies and utilizes technical information, to make recommendations to an attorney.

Must have a background in litigation of more than 6 years in Florida and superior people skills–Knowledge of Collier County and Lee County Court system and e-filing is necessary.

Responsibilities – Litigation Paralegal

• Attend and assist attorneys at client meetings. Transcribe interviews with clients and complete all intake paperwork.
• Draft initial pleadings and other legal documents.
• Prepare drafts of Requests for Production and Responses to Request for Production.
• Organize responsive documents related to Requests for Production.
• Help prepare attorneys for trial by drafting pleadings, motions and witness lists.
• Create and maintain Trial Notebooks.
• Assist attorneys at trial and hearings.
• Compose professional correspondence/email and maintain efficient communications, internally and externally.
• Maintain litigation files with a proactive approach to high organization.
• Anticipate the steps involved in litigation matters from inception to trial and methodically prepare accordingly.
• Oversee scheduling and docketing regarding trial deadlines, court dates, depositions, hearings, and mediations.
• Verify all documents are stored properly and systematically in electronic file system.
• Draft legal documents including complaints, motions and subpoenas.

Requirements

• Six (6) or more years of Florida litigation paralegal experience, civil and commercial.
• Collier County and Lee County e-filing proficiency.
• High attention to detail and exceptional work ethic.
• Exceptional writing ability and technical skills.
• College degree preferred.
• FRP a plus.
• Paralegal Certificate preferred.
