JOB DUTIES:
- Look at commitment documents to understand sentencing rules, update sentence information, and make sure release dates are correct. Check computer calculations and manually calculate jail time credit, informing staff of any changes.
- Work with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Court Clerks to fix mistakes in commitment documents and clear up any confusion about sentences. Follow up to make sure all needed documents are received and processed.
- Search the inmate information system to find and fix errors in inmate identification and number assignments, making sure the correct sentence details are entered in the Offender Based Information System (OBIS).
- Review new commitments after inmate intake to decide if a new inmate number is needed or if they can use their original number. Make necessary changes to sentence details and recalculate release dates, informing the Central Office of any updates.
